Think... …glacier skiing in British Columbia’s Whistler Blackcomb—in July. ...foraging near streams for bulrushes and baby cattails with a Quebec wildcrafting guru-chef. ...learning the nimble jab-and-twist with a pro oyster shucker on Prince Edward Island. Then, slurping it down. Like biting the ocean. Really. …rubbing elbows with the glitterati at a bar just down the street from Ontario’s star-studded Toronto International Film Festival. …listening for the first time to two women doing traditional Inuit throat-singing, breathy and melodious, in Nunavut, the Canadian Arctic. We've got 9,984,670 sq km and 32,623,490 stories, give or take a few. Let's get the word out today! Join us, the Canadian Tourism Commission and our partners at Canada Media Marketplace. This is our not-to-be-missed yearly event where Canadian travel organizations get their chance to tell media one on one about Canada. Media take away the best new Canadian travel stories. Everyone leaves with a great time under their belt and a journal filled with new contacts and ideas.
Media Marketplace is a one-stop, cost-effective opportunity for media to: 1. Meet one-on-one with provincial/territorial and regional Canadian tourism organizations, major hotel properties, attractions and transportation companies. 2. Gather new story ideas, inspiration and background material. 3. Develop personal relationships with Canadian media relations representatives. 4. Network with other media from across the U.S. and some from Canada also. Media Marketplace brings together Canadian media directors and representatives from a broad cross section of the Canadian tourism industry with U. S. media. Media guests represent travel and lifestyle journalists from print, electronic, and on-line consumer and travel publications. The purpose is to exchange the latest Canadian tourism information in a structured, professional setting consisting of scheduled, one-on-one appointments and related hospitality events.
